Heat Stroke

Ever notice that the weather now is much warmer than the past years? It’s because of the changing of the climate due to global warming. One of the effects of the global warming is the occurrence of heat wave in different part of the world. Because of this extreme prolonged period of excessively hot weather, heat stroke may strike to every one of us. Heat stroke occurs when the body is exposed to an excessive amount of heat and becomes unable dissipate the heat through sweating, due to dehydration and extreme hot weather. Heat stroke is not a laughing matter because it can be fatal. The symptoms of heat stroke are fatigue, seizures, higher pulse rate and the person stop sweating in extreme heat. There are lots of ways to prevent heat stroke from happening to you. The most important thing to remember is to drink lots of water daily because drinking water prevents dehydration. Stay indoors when the weather is too hot. Wear loose-fitting, well-ventilated, thin clothing in light colors. A black shirt or dark color shirt can absorb sunlight and raise your body temperature. If you cannot avoid working in an extreme weather, wear sun visor and a hat that provides good protection.
